Dee Cramer helps Flint youth center get AC units replaced after robbery

FLINT (WJRT) -
(06/05/13) - The Haskell Youth Center, on Flint's north side, had its air-conditioning units destroyed in May. Now, with the help of local businesses, they have new ones - and local kids have a safe place to spend time over the summer.
The building houses the Flint Police Athletic League and the Greater Flint Boys and Girls Club. The groups work together to run after-school programs and full-day summer camps, which help more than 200 kids a day over the summer.
On May 13, burglars stole the copper from the building's four air-conditioning units. Police estimate the copper is worth about $100, but say the units cost about $25,000 to replace.
Local businesses, including Dee Cramer Heating and Cooling, JMS Crane, Sonitrol, Carrier Great Lakes, and Young's Supply, stepped up to help replace the units at little-to-no cost to the city.
The summer camp will start up, as planned, on June 10.
Meanwhile, police are still looking for three people caught on surveillance video stealing the copper from the building, last month.
Call the Flint Police if you have any information about the theft.
