We host a chili cook off every fall to raise money for the United Way of Genesee and Shiawassee counties. This year we had 12 chili entries to vote from. This summer, Dee Cramer partnered with a non-profit organization named the Heavy Metal Summer Experience (www.hmse.org) to host a camp for high school students to learn about the sheet metal trade. This non-profit was founded by a few folks from two of our peer group companies in Washington and California. Every October our employees raise money for the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk hosted in downtown Flint. This year we took our fundraising efforts personally. One of our own, Kristie, beat breast cancer this year!!! October was 'Team Kristie' month at Dee Cramer. Every employee received a Team Kristie breast cancer awareness shirt to wear for breast cancer awareness month. We are excited to have this group joining us for the Summer! Lauren interned for us last summer and is coming back this year to work with our Accounting team again. This is the first year we have had two service interns. Brennyr will be focusing on work with our clients to the north while Grant will assist with the customers in Oakland County/Metro-Detroit. Every October Dee Cramer employee Kay Fletcher leads a fundraiser for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Kay does a 50/50 raffle every Friday and then at the end of the month all proceeds are donated to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. This year employees raised $450 through 50/50. Lauren is interested in attending either Michigan State University or Oakland University for Accounting. Every September, Dee Cramer hosts a United Way Campaign to support our local Genesee/Shiawassee County United Way Foundation. The United Way Committee at Dee Cramer plans different events and fundraisers for our employees to participate in.
